Lovely restaurant. Food was really good and they had great cocktails. Lovely relaxed vibe and atmosphere. The Africology soap and hand cream in the unisex bathrooms was the best thing I've smelt in ages, really divine! Lovely, memorable lunch with my sister.

Truffles on the Park, Sandown – Sandton’s Quiet Jewel of Romance and Flavour 04/04/26 Every plate whispered eat me. Every soft lamp flickered stay longer. The moment you step inside, Sandton’s glittering skyline dissolves behind you. You slip into a cocoon of warm golden light, where tables shimmer under the seductive glow of touch lamps—like a lover’s half-closed eyes. Plates arrive like dancers caught mid-pirouette, and the air itself feels hushed yet humming, the perfect hush for secrets and lingering glances across candlelit distances. Service & Wine: The front-of-house greeted us with a warmth that felt handwritten, never rehearsed. Our waiter moved like a gentle conductor—there exactly when the moment called for him, invisible the rest of the time. He guided us toward a glass of Franschhoek Merlot, the most modest bottle on the list, and it unfolded like velvet: layers of dark berry, soft spice, and quiet depth. Sometimes the humblest wines become the most unforgettable companions. The Culinary Journey There is real reverence in this kitchen. They take familiar flavours and coax them into something profound luxury born not from excess, but from balance and restraint. Truffle, so often shouted elsewhere, is allowed to speak softly here: woven like silk thread through the dishes, enhancing rather than eclipsing. Starters The Golden Truffle Arancini arrived as crisp, burnished orbs that surrendered to a molten heart of Emmental and mushroom mousse, finished with a kiss of truffle aioli. Each bite was a slow serenade—light, yet shamelessly decadent—pulling the palate into a delicious abyss. The Ricotta & Parmesan Dumplings floated like pale clouds in a smoked pomodoro sauce that somehow managed to be both delicate and quietly intense. Zucchini and edamame added bright, garden-fresh notes, turning what could have been simple comfort into something quietly extraordinary. Mains I chose the Karoo Lamb Shoulder—rolled and roasted until the fat rendered into a golden halo that enriched every tender fibre. The twice-fried parmesan truffle chips were pure genius: shattering crisp outside, pillowy within, greedily drinking up the jus and lamb fat like guilty secrets. (I swapped the mash for fries and seemed to misplace the pea purée and seasonal vegetables along the way—perhaps a quiet translation issue—but I didn’t miss them for a moment.) My husband took the Miso Beef Short Ribs. Sweet honey and a whisper of ginger danced with deep miso and toasted sesame, turning the ribs into something hauntingly complex. The meat surrendered at the slightest touch, falling into soft submission. Short ribs are notoriously difficult to master—too often they fight back with stringy defiance—but these were flawless, their flavour lingering long after the plate was cleared. Dessert Then came the finale: a trio of South African classics reimagined as pure seduction. The Orange Malva Pudding wept warm syrup, its citrus brightness wrapped in deep, sticky indulgence. The Milk Tart hovered like a delicate, nostalgic cloud atop the cake—refined, yet still carrying the soft comfort of home. The Amarula Ice Cream melted into velvet on the tongue, creamy and almost angelic. Together they formed a sweet ménage à trois—a romantic crescendo that teased, tempted, and finally satisfied completely. Dessert at Truffles is not merely eaten; it is experienced, a lingering poetic embrace that stays with you like a beautiful memory. For cuisine of this calibre, the price feels refreshingly gentle within Sandton’s fine-dining landscape. The service was so quietly flawless that a 25% gratuity felt not generous, but inevitable—a small thank you to people who turned an evening into something memorable. Truffles on the Park is not just a restaurant. It is an immersion. A soft-lit jewel in Sandton’s crown where ambience, service, and cuisine weave themselves into one seamless tapestry of romance and indulgence. This is dining as theatre, dining as seduction and dining as memory that beckons me to go back for more.

We were greeted warmly at the door and promptly seated at our table and our drinks orders were taken. Drinks arrived quick, we had the smoky popcorn whiskey sour, raspberry rose, Black and blue berry gin and smoky ginger harmony. Drinks are quite pricey but were tasty. We shared a Salmon Grenade Sushi 4 pc which was delicious.  This is where the experience went downhill. After an hour of placing our order the waiter came to apologize for the delay as the kitchen was overwhelmed. It took about 1 and a half hours for the food to eventually come. We had the Signature Fillet steak and truffle fries as well as the Creamy chilli squid linguini. The steak was cooked perfectly but tasty like LPG gas which was very off putting. The pasta wasn't anything to write home about, was average. Also I paid a R500 deposit which was not deducted from my bill. Overall  not a great experience and don't think I would return to this establishment.
