Not sure how to accurately review this place. We had a wide selection of food here, and the best thing here is the fish and chips. The rest is average. The seafood platter had a mixed bunch of fresh and not so fresh prawns. Some came out the shell really easily and some were stuck very bad. The calamari was very underwhelming. Chicken double prego was so so, the ribs were just ok, the eisbein was dry, and hard to cut into. The pizza and pasta are also quite average. The worst part is the slow service and the constant looking around for a waiter. Maybe being seated by the kids play area gets less noticed but we constantly had to get up to find someone for service which was very irritating. The waiters are all nice and all. But the food takes more than 40min to arrive. The last time we nearly waited for 1 hour. We finished padel at 6pm and only got our food after 7.30. They don’t let you know if there is a delay and only after we asked they said they were very busy and everything was delayed. But there were only 6 tables at the time. I will only order the fish and chips going forward but they did not have stock that day. So we tried the other things but did not hit the spot.
Haven't eaten at Olive Tree in a while but they have definitely stepped up their game! Well done, the Mediterranean Hake was truly exceptional 👏. The beer battered Hake was crispy and a very generous portion, the homemade chips were on point and all the other meals were enjoyed by all. This is proper food, done properly! Well done!!!
Amazing time at 33 Olive. Never disappoints. Calamari and prawn combo for lunch, definitely one of the best in town. Highly recommended.
Lovely controlled environment for families with kids. They make a DIVINE frozen margarita. The pizzas and burgers are good, not great. We have had the ribs twice and both times they did not treat our stomachs well. One of our visits was for a kiddies birthday party— The platters were yummy and our kids had a great time. The other visits were for a quick bite and fresh air. The service is always terribly slow but the waiters are super friendly. Would be back again? Still on the fence.
My family and I have been in Blairgworie for just over 3 weeks. I posted in a Blairgowrie community group asking for toddler friendly restaurants. 2 people suggested this restaurant. My daughter and I were being spoilt by an old neighbour. To say our experience was poor would be understatement. 1. We walked into a place and moved tables 3 times trying to find out how and where to get assistance. 2. Took almost 30 minutes to get our order taken. 3. Took us forever to get a highchair (their seats are not kid friendly) 4. The table's food got cold while waiting on my order of the ribs and wings combo (the worst ribs and wings I have ever tasted, ever) 5. I was served wings that had gone off, I could smell it when I tried taking a bite and the "pork" ribs were chewy like beef. I had a runny tummy from the few bites I took of everything. 6. They redid my entire meal but we had to leave, so I left the restaurant hungry. And had to still get home and airfry the chips, ribs and wings and add salt for them to get some level of flavour that I am used to. 7. The restaurant was cold (large gusts of wind coming and all doors are wide open), not sure how it is such a hit with other parents. Definitely will not be eating there or refering anyone there. Felt bad for the friend who paid for all that nonsense.
