Visited on Friday night, 12 June 2026, the second day of the FIFA World Cup. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not busy at all. My experience left me genuinely confused. First surprise: I wanted to order the Share Plate, but I knew 1kg might not be enough for two people. I was happy to pay more for a bigger portion, so I asked if there was a larger share plate option — more meat, more money, no problem. Instead, the waiter told me all share plate options were unavailable. No share plates at all. He then said I could only order pre-cut steaks in the 300g to 500g range. A braai restaurant, on a quiet Friday night during the World Cup, telling me they can't do a share plate of meat? That was already hard to understand. Second surprise: because we planned to stay for a while, I ordered a beer bucket with 6 beers. I specifically chose the bucket so my friend and I could drink at the same pace. Nobody would feel rushed, and nobody would be left sitting there bored. We simply drank one beer each at roughly the same speed throughout the meal. Then came the biggest surprise. After our meat plates were cleared away, we looked at the table and somehow there was only ONE beer left. Maybe this sounds trivial, but think about it: there were two of us, six beers, and we were drinking at the same pace. We were not sharing bottles. Yet somehow we ended up with an odd number remaining. The feeling was similar to being in a nightclub late at night and suddenly realizing a bottle you ordered seems to have disappeared. The difference is that in a nightclub, after several rounds of spirits, you might reasonably question your memory. Here, we were just drinking beer with dinner. Could I be mistaken? Of course. But I left wondering whether I had suddenly forgotten basic arithmetic. Add one more weird thing:My friend asked the waiter if they had draught beer (we saw it on the menu later). He immediately said no. Just flat-out "no". We later checked the menu ourselves, and there it was: "Draught". Why would a waiter lie about something so easily verifiable? To push us to a more expensive option?

Lovely place in Lonehill shopping Centre near the park. Great atmosphere and warm and friendly customer service. Welcomes your babies and doggo babies too 😊😘 they bring fresh water for your pup. Only downside was the food 😢 had the lamb mixed grill, only nice thing on it was the lamb chop and the salad side. Lamb Sausage was not cooked and the lamb pinwheel was too fatty. Sis had lamb shank special, extremely fatty - hardly any meat and no salt on anything on plate. Nacho pizza - spicy and cooked well. But still no salt at all.

The Braai Room is located at Lonehill Shopping Centre, Lone Hill, Sandton, 2191. The Braai Room is a great spot if you’re looking for great food and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere. We enjoyed a succulent burger with salad and delicious barbecue wings and chips, both perfectly prepared with bountiful flavour. The service by Shylet was excellent – friendly, attentive, and efficient without being intrusive. Sitting outside added to the experience, with a view overlooking the Lonehill Dam and poppies in a comfortable, easygoing setting that made it the perfect place to unwind on a Friday afternoon and enjoy sumptuous food. The large outdoor play area is just the thing to lure the kids while parents can savour some solo time. One can choose to be indoors as well. Highly recommended for anyone craving quality braai-style meals and warm hospitality!

I ordered oxtail potjie via UberEats on 18/06/2026. What was delivered did not seem like oxtail, rather game meat. Despite that, there was so little bony pieces of meat with lots of undercooked vegetable. For obvious reasons, I didn't consume the meal in case I got ill from it. No apologies or acknowledgement for UberEats or the restaurant. This was not the time in respect of the oxtail - past delivery, the meat reeked of vinegar. I will NEVER be duped out of R300 EVER AGAIN! DHE will be alerted to your dubious food control measurements! SIES!!!

The food at the braai room is absolutely to die for. Great variety. My only issue was that it takes forever for waitresses to attend to you. The service is definitely not the greatest but I’d be willing to try it again for the food! 🥘
