Play Africa transforms a historic apartheid-era prison site—just meters from where Nelson Mandela was once incarcerated—into a joyful, highly interactive playscape focused on discovery, creativity, and children's rights. It features hands-on play stations including large-scale Rigamajig building kits, Lego and Duplo tables, an imagination playground with giant foam blocks, train sets, and child-sized role-play areas like a mock South African courtroom or market stall. It specialises in early childhood development, foundation phase learning, and inclusive sensory-play days designed for children with autism. Note: Regular visits operate via bookings for school/group field trips (Tuesday–Friday) or special open Family Play Days on select Saturdays.
