The place is really nice, beautiful and quiet 🤗🙏🏻 The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our waitress, Leila, was amazing and always went the extra mile to check up on us and make sure we are comfortable 👍🏻👌🏻 The food and drinks were amazing 😋 I would definitely recommend this restaurant to have some lunch with friends and family 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Paputzis is my new favourite restaurant. Can't fault anything here. Been twice for dinner over the past week. Food is delicious. The beef fillet pasta is a winner. The chicken pesto pasta is superb. Red Wine by the glass is Simonsvlei cab sav or merlot. Both compliment the food well. Service is excellent. The complimentary sherry on cold nights hits the right spot. Their freshly baked small rolls & individually wrapped butters is great. And the décor is just lovely.
We had rich chocolate cake and a orange+lemon poppy seed+almond cake with americanos here today. Both were delicious and a winner in this cosy coffee shop on a cold and wet morning in Johannesburg.
What a horrible experience. I went there today with my vegan friend at 12:00pm. We asked if we could just get avo on toast. Our waiter, Jerry, said that he'd have to check because breakfast is over. He came back and said that they'd do it for us but this is "the last time, because breakfast is over." He wasn't smiling or joking, so I said this is actually our first time at Paputzis. He replied: "Your first and last time." No smiling or laughing. Then he disappeared for ages, and finally reappeared with avo on BREAD, not toast, and no butter on mine (my vegan friend asked for no butter.) But we were so hungry at that point and he disappears forever, that we didn't send it back, plus he made it seem like he was doing us such a huge favour. Avo on toast is really not a huge ask and not complicated. This was indeed our first and last visit.
Found this hidden gem as a last minute search while in the area with the family. Even though busy, been Valentines day, service was attentive and top notch. Food was amazing.
