We visited Joy Jozi on a Saturday so it was quite busy but pleasant. There is minimal parking at the venue so you may need to park on the street or in the adjacent paid parking. The venue is quite unique. There is tons of space for kids to play, read and craft. There is an additional charge of R100, however, the kids meal is free. The food itself was good, however, a little overpriced. The bathrooms were clean and the chef was really friendly. There was a sing- a-long when we visited it was very memorable.
It was our first time visiting Joy Jozi today and the kids (age 3 and 6) had such a ball. They did beading, cookie decorations and painted (at an extra fee though). Our waiter Nkosi was brilliant. He had such a good attitude, always had a smile on his face and nothing was ever a problem for him. I found it very reasonably to pay R200 entrance fee for 3 hours which included my kids food and drinks. We will definitely be back. Thanks guys
Most if not all the waiters/waitresses are NOT South African. I had high expectations and the place unfortunately fell short. You pay R100 "access fee" for a child below 12years, I have never seen a place marketing itself for families especially Children, charge them to gain access like its a club. Every activity that caters to the children (painting, jewelry making, slime etc) comes at an extra cost ranging between R50 - R170. Accept the play area, you would have already paid for that with the initial R100. There are toys for sale aswell, the outside playing area is suitable for children under 7years, mini hooler hoops, miniature swings etc. It was packed, also most tables are packed soooo close to each other - no privacy when it comes to conversations. We got a small table in the corner... far from comfortable as waiters had to bump into my feet or I skooch to go pass every time they had an order to deliver, seems like they just added more seating space without considering logistics of waiters miving around. The food is decent.
We were assisted by a trainee, I didn’t get her name. She was concerned that we’d get cold at our assigned seating and asked the owner to organise a warmer seating area for us, and he did. We were warm and comfortable. Sanele was a good waiter. The food was great and the kids had a such a lovely time. Thank you so much. We’ll definitely be back.
Loved Joy Jozi! We were there to celebrate a birthday and they went over and above to make our experience beyond wonderful. Our waiter, Stanford, was exemplary. The kids absolutely loved the games, toys, activities and the child minders were really appreciated. All in all, a great evening!
