Probably the best theme park ever! Walking past the old mining town setup gives that nostalgic vibe right away, but it doesn’t take long before the screams from the coasters remind you this is serious. The park strikes that rare balance between heritage, thrill, and family atmosphere, & that’s why I keep coming back. I’m usually the friend who has to be forced onto the freaky adrenaline rides, haha. Anaconda’s 33-meter drop & inversions never fail to leave me breathless, and even if I rode it a million times, I’d still get those chills down my spine. The Tower of Terror is another one that gets me every time... that 50-meter plunge into a pitch-black tunnel feels like you’re falling forever & I always come off feeling like I’m gonna faint. Jozi Express and Golden Loop give you that fast, whip-like thrill, while Miner’s Revenge, Storm Chaser, and UFO sure make you leave dizzy. For something calmer, the Giant Wheel gives incredible views over the city, and the Log Ride and Raging River Rapids are perfect when you want to cool off & get soaked with friends. The food & drinks are great too. You can grab a classic Wimpy meal or something quick from Chip ’n Dip between rides. I Scream Ice-Cream is perfect for cooling down, but for something more filling, Mochachos or Oldees Diner always hits the spot.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Gold Reef City Theme Park, and it was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the excitement never stopped. The rides were incredible, the park was clean and beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere was full of energy and fun. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the day even more enjoyable. There were attractions for everyone, from thrilling roller coasters to family-friendly rides, so we made amazing memories together. Seeing the huge smile on my daughter's face all day was priceless. Thank you, Gold Reef City, for giving her a birthday she'll remember forever. We can't wait to come back!

Want to take a break. Go to Gold Reef City where the fun never stops. Enjoy a time out with the family at the infamous Theme Park or even live entertainment in the main area. Hungry no problem just head over to one of the many eating places found in the food court. Movie night also covered.
I haven't been to Golf Reef City since I was a small boy. I was impressed at how clean and well run the place was. The staff were all very friendly and the rides were all loads of fun for the kids and the adults. One or two rides were not operational but probably 90 percent were. It was a very nice day out with the family.
