Great museum. The displays are a little bit all over and it’s not always clear how everything is organised but there are lots of interesting things to see so you shouldn’t be disappointed. It would be great to have a map or brochure to assist.
Visited the old was museum for the first time since primary school. Pleased to see that the place looks very well maintained. The lawn was pristine. Very nice atmosphere and everything seems to be very well looked after. No photography inside the halls which was unfortunate. Probably a good place to take your dad.
Unfortunately, my recent visit to the museum was plagued by several issues. With both the power and water cut off, half of the exhibits were completely inaccessible. It is incredibly disappointing to see that absolutely nothing has improved since my last visit. While the management did provide a welcome discount to compensate for the inconvenience, it is abundantly clear that the facility requires much better care and attention from its owners. The saving grace of the entire experience remains the Anglo-Boer War memorial structure, which is undeniably the main attraction.
Was in very good condition and clean. Bathrooms was lovely. Spend about 2 hours. Nice and clean and well maintained. Kids really enjoyed - aged 12 and 14
A fantastic place to visit! The exhibits are well laid out and packed with fascinating military history, from historic aircraft and tanks to uniforms, medals, and memorabilia. There is plenty to see for both adults and children. If you enjoy history or simply want a unique outing, the National Military Museum is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
