We had an excellent experience at Hennops Hiking Trail and thoroughly enjoyed the 5 km Zebra Trail. The trail was moderately challenging, well maintained, and felt very safe throughout, which made the hike both enjoyable and relaxing. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. The facilities were also impressive, with a lovely coffee shop, clean restrooms, and clean shower rooms available after the hike. The picnic area is fantastic, with braai stands and two well-serviced swimming pools, making it a perfect destination for a full day out with family or friends. One of the best parts was the peaceful atmosphere, with no music allowed, which really lets you enjoy nature. We also spotted a few zebras - for just R100 per person, this was really great! Overall, Hennops is an epic outdoor spot that offers a wonderful balance of hiking, relaxation, and family-friendly facilities. We will definitely be back.

Honestly, it was a fantastic 5km hike. The suspension bridge is definitely worth the drive and the river is just so peaceful. Yes the litter is bad but they are doing something about it and this is out of their control. All we can do as people is not litter and pick up rubbish as we go. The views were stunning and the little old stone structures along the way were a delight to see. The staff were extremely friendly. Shout out to the man running the kiosk. Bonus points for selling snacks and refreshments right there. Bathrooms were VERY clean.

The trails are very challenging you can tell just from the warning signs along the way. There’s even an escape route for those taking 10km, because this hike is no joke. It’s uphill, with rocky sections that really test your endurance. Just before crossing the river, you’ll spot the cave. Your legs will feel every step, but the tranquility and breathtaking views are truly spectacular. Trail markings are clear. The only downside is littering along the way. Hennops Serenity is a must visit 💯

Visited on 21 March 2025. The entry fee was R100. We were able to complete 2 trails Krokodil 11km and Zebra 5km. The trails was quite busy during the morning. The trails are well maintained and there is ample signage. There is a spacious parking lot and car guards were present. There's also a shop on-site that sells snacks, food and drinks. It is unfortunate that some patrons choose to not respect others by jumping on the suspension bridge, screaming loudly and also dispose of their rubbish on the trails.

Hennops Hiking Trails is always a refreshing and fun experience; went there again this past weekend. Beautiful scenery, well-kept trails, and just the right mix of challenge and enjoyment. A great place to clear your mind, move your body, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended.
