I can’t express how magical my visit was to The Donkey Dairy. My family and I witnessed the birth of the farm’s first camel! 🥹💙🐫 From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the joyful atmosphere. Witnessing the staff’s awe and excitement as they welcomed the little camel was unforgettable. The experience went beyond just the camel birth. I had the chance to taste the delightful liquid gold donkey milk, which was a treat! Feeding the adorable (!) baby goats and getting to pat a zebra added to the wonderful experience. My boys also really enjoyed the horse riding and spending time with the bunnies. And, all the friendly donkeys made the day even more special. This was our first visit, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. We can’t wait to explore the hiking trails next time! We left with hearts full of joy and wonderful memories. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique adventure! 🌟🐐🐴🐇🐪
What an amazing experience. We enjoyed interacting with the animals and all staff were welcoming and friendly. We loved the milk tasting and have also been shown incredible kindness by the owner of the farm. Definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back!
We had such an amazing time! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. The staff were exceptional and made us feel so welcome throughout our visit. The animal feeding experiences were so much fun, and all the animals were incredibly friendly. The baby goats were definitely the highlight of my day! I never expected them to be so mischievous, but they were absolutely adorable and such a delight to interact with. The farm is beautifully maintained, and the grounds are stunning. We also enjoyed a lovely hike, which made the day even more special. Overall, it was a fantastic day out, and we can't wait to come back. We will definitely be visiting again!
The Donkey Dairy – Magaliesberg We visited The Donkey Dairy for a family outing, and it was an interesting and unique experience. Situated in the beautiful Magaliesberg Mountains, about 70km from Johannesburg and Pretoria, the setting is very picturesque. The drive through the African Hills Nature Reserve is a highlight on its own, with sightings of wildlife such as giraffes (we didn’t spot elephants this time, but they are in the area). At the farm, children can feed the donkeys and dwarf goats, which is definitely the main attraction. There’s also a donkey milk tasting, a small gift shop, and an informative video explaining how the farm started and the role of donkey milk products. The concept is special and the farm clearly has a big heart behind it. However, overall the experience felt fairly average when considering the travel time. It’s well suited for families with younger kids (around 5–10 years old), who will likely enjoy the interaction with the animals the most. For adults or those travelling a distance, it may not fully justify the trip on its own, but it can still be a pleasant outing if you’re in the area Reservation is essential.
5/5 ⭐ What an incredible day at Donkey Dairy! We had such a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. There are so many different animals, we got to see and even touch a zebra, llama, alpaca, camel, donkey, cow, bunnies, and adorable miniature goats all in one visit. It felt like a dream for animal lovers! The highlight for us was bottle-feeding the baby goats. My daughter and I absolutely loved it, the goats were so sweet and playful. It was a memory we’ll both cherish. The whole place is incredibly family-friendly. I highly recommend it for anyone with small children. We’re already planning to come back soon to explore the hiking trails. Donkey Dairy is a hidden gem and an absolute must-visit!
